Facts and Information about GoldenDoodles : Facts and Information about Miniature GoldenDoodles

F1 and F1B Miniature Golden Doodles

My daughter and I are excited to share our love for Mini-GoldenDoodles with you!

A goldendoodle is a cross between a golden retriever and a poodle.   GoldenDoodles are not a purebred and they are not a registered breed.

We have chosen to raise GoldenDoodles for a few reasons.  The first being that the cross between these two breeds produces a wonderful family oriented dog, that can be hypo-allergenic.  Secondly, Doodles are typically healthier than purebreds.  Displaying what is known as  "Hybrid vigour".  Genetic problems are less likely to be passed unto the pups if both parents do not carry the genes.   Most genetic problems are due to years of purebred closed gene pools.   Thus mixed breed dogs are known to be healthier and more genetically sound then purebreds.

We believe strongly in selective breeding to enhance the relationship between pets and families. It is very important to us not only to breed for genetically sound pups, but also intelligent, and loving pups that have a desire to please. Ultimately we want our pups to be part of a family not just a pet. Which is why we love Miniature GoldenDoodles!

My daughter has enjoyed working at a grooming and boarding kennel, along with other dog training activities. She has finished obedience class with Sienna & Rose, and is now training both in agility. I have worked with dogs in various ways for the past 25 years and still enjoy every moment.

Why a Goldendoodle?

Goldendoodles are very intelligent and typically easily trained dogs.  Which can be attributed to the  fact that Golden Retrievers are ranked 4th and poodles are ranked 2nd for the most intelligent dogs in the world.   When goldendoodles are taken to obedience class and trained properly they typically learn very fast.   Every Doodle owner I have met raves about their intelligence and trainability.   Doodles love everyone and are very loyal dogs, who are in tune with their surroundings!    They are great with children, other animals and people in general.   Our Doodle Sienna, loves our cats, other pups and chickens.   Doodles love to participate in family activities and just relax with you when the day ends.   They crave human companionship and thus are not a dog to be left alone.   They are fun loving, dogs that make everyone laugh.    Full of personality and character they steal your heart the first time you meet one.

They are NOT excessive barkers but, they will bark to warn you that someone is at the door.

If you love to have fun and be able to laugh and play with your dog then a goldendoodle maybe the dog for you!

Coat type of goldendoodles?

Remember every goldendoodle has a different coat type! There is NO guarantee this will be a hypoallergenic or non-shedding dog. Although I have yet to hear of anyone with dander allergies that have had trouble with an F1b Goldendoodle.

If you have allergies then itʼs best to get a goldendoodle with a curly coat. The curlier the coat the less your goldendoodle will shed. The straighter the coat the more likely your goldendoodle will shed.  Also F1b doodles tend to be more hypoallergenic / non-shedding, which makes them the ideal choice for families with allergies.

You can typically tell the coat type when they are 6-7 weeks old and this helps put the right goldendoodle puppy with you!

Remember:

There are 2 different types of allergies. Most people are allergic to canine dander and are fine with poodles, - BUT if youʼre allergic to saliva (if you break out in hives and canʼt be around poodles) then you will be allergic to doodles as well.
